  • It becomes increasingly obvious to me that part of the reason you are such an impressive overachiever is that you Do Not Cut Yourself Any Slack. You might want to think about doing that, just once in a while. I mean, you've been sick, for cryin' in the sink!

After 19 years I think your body just needs more than six weeks to sort itself out.

You have the entire Potternation behind you, not to mention what sounds like a terrific family. Chin up, and call your mom for a hug. No shame in that.

  • Melissa, try to hang in there. Weight is just a number; it's all about how you feel.

We're all supporting you, Melis. <3

  • I'm about a year too late commenting on this, but here goes. I know exactly how you feel. I've struggled with my weight for 15+ years and have lost 50 lbs twice in my life, only to gain it back again. Each time I lost it, I was doing something different. Certainly though above all, I was killing myself to do it. Last time, I ate 1,000 calories a day and worked out for two hours each day. Now, as an adult, I only have time to workout for one hour per day... Eating limited calories again...

  • omg i totally want to give you a hug. i know, its hard when our bodies fight us.

  • *hug*

Like most people before me have commented, it is the lifestyle and the way that you feel that is most important. Scales don't tell us how healthy we are. I hate it when my friend tells me that she is fat just because her scale weight is higher than society tells her it should be. A healthy body is way more important than a skinny body and I only wish that society would advocate this view and no the one that say that the scale and mirror are most important.

  • You shouldn't look at the pounds so much as you should look at your body fat percentage. if you have a healthy body fat percentage then your healthy, its for women its between 31% and 10% for men its 2%-25%. Anything over that or 20% over ur ideal body weight is obese. So don't look at the lbs so much. Also when you 'starve' your body by going on a diet it will save up calories in you body so it can use them when it needs to so sometimes u might not be loosing any weight at all b/c of that.

  • Melissa, it just sound like you are under a lot of stress. The last 2 years or so I ate the way you should and walking all around my college campus but I was gaining weight. I just graduated in December and the release of all the study and job search stress has made it so easy for me to lose wieght now. Maybe you should do something relaxing.

  • *Hugs* I appreciate your honesty. xx

  • hey- so I am certainly not a nutritionist but maybe you aren't eating frequently enough? I find that I lost easier when I eat 5-6 250 calorie meals then when I each 3 500 calorie meals...just a suggesting...it will get better- good luck!

  • This is a late comment because I've had a busy week and am now catching up on my YouTube subscriptions, but I wanted to comment.

    *GIANT HUG*

I'm sorry you're having a hard time. It sucks.

    Feel better soon.

  • I understand how you are feeling. My weight had been fluctuating between 138 and 142 for about 6 months after I initially lost about 20 pounds, and I was maintaining. For the past months i've added a lot of exercise and been eating well. My weight has been fluctuating again between 136(closer to 137) and 139. It will get down and then a day later its almost 140 again. Its so frustrating when I do this when almost all of my friends can just eat normally, not exercise, and are stick skinny.

  • As others have said already; your efforts ARE really showing. :) And I don't think you should worry too much about the weight yet, your body may just need a little more time to adjust itself.

You may not feel inspirational right now, but I can tell you, cross my heart, that you are the only one who have ever managed to motivate me to start working out and sticking with it. So THANK YOU! :) All us fitties have your vlogs as support, remember that you have our support too. We believe in you! :)
