Mission College Beginning and Intermediate Class performing at Dance Caravan 2009 in West Valley College Saratoga, California.
This was my first dance performance. It was really great finally performing this routine in front of an audience after all the time practicing we did. I was part of the second half of the dance, the "locking" section. I'm in the front row last guy stage left (video right) wearing a white hoodie. It's nice to watch the video to see how it looks from the audience.
In addition to this routine we learned a lot of other dance styles and techniques. I'm really glad I took this class. Ceech Hsu is a great teacher. He taught us a lot about dance, getting in the groove, being confident and having fun. The most important thing he taught us especially before the show was to have confidence in your skills and the confidence leads in to us having fun on stage.
We performed for Dance Caravan 2009 all three nights, Friday - Sunday. Each time was a heart pounding great experience. After Sundays set we all sneaked into the theater to watch the rest of the show. While walking to my seat a lady turned around and sad "Great Job. It looked like you were having fun out there". Lil scary she recognized me but it was a nice compliment and I was having fun.
If you ever want to take a Hip Hop Class in the Bay Area go to Mission College in Santa Clara and take Ceech's class. He knows what he's doing. He is the founder/leader of DS Players. You can check out my video of DSP performing at the same show.
