How to roll a paper patched bullet - just like the Old Dead Guys.

The important points are to align the tip of the patch closest to you with the edge of the patch on the other side of the bullet. Then hold the tip of the patch down and roll the bullet away from you while applying a little back pressure with the right hand and holding the patch to the board with the left hand.

Pick the bullet up and twirl between thumb and finger tips of left hand and then seat in case.

Good to go - NOTHING else is needed.

  • intezam - can't help with the lubed bullets and patching. Never done it, but I can't see it would be a lot different.

  • gigerchild - sorry I did not see you comment. That paper is Eaton 9 lb airmail paper. No longer made today and my supply is slowly dwindling. I recommend some of the higher quality "tracing paper" available in bookstores. It will often be labeled as 25 lb paper but it will be just as thin or even thinner than the 9 lb paper that I have.
