Basically all you have to know is what things to attack, and what not to attack.
Air power PWNS tanks, infantry, artillery, etc. But a lot of APC's can be annoying, but if there's one thing you should NOT attack it's anti-air. Those will chew you up so fast...
Also you shouldn't leave them just hovering around because people can and will call for an air-to-air strike and "Teach you not to be overconfident" LOL.
