SMART Boards, Communicator Clearboards and Fractions

Fractions can be difficult for students. This webinar uses SMART Notebook files to present discovery-based, inquiry-oriented activities that promote understanding of a denominator and numerator through representations on unit segments, number lines, unit circles, unit rectangles and groups of coins, as well as pattern blocks and rulers. Activities also include the comparison and ordering of fractions, as well as related games and practice activities. The final activity includes how to discover ways to determine and apply the concept of equivalent fractions. Participants will be able to download the files as well as related templates that can be used by students during the activities.
