@JoeLaFigue As someone who knows virtually no French (but would like to), I got that bit. But only because I picked out Dalek and escaliers which is similar to escalator, a word we use from the more latin/French influenced part of our language. The fact that Daleks can't get up stairs is quite a common joke so it was just association. I think that's normally the case, you can pick out a few key words and build together the meaning of a sentance.

this always makes me wonder what do most of englishamerican people know in french ? Are you actually able to understand this song x) ? Because ... If I had not taken classes of english, I'm not sure I would have understood this part about Daleks not able to go up stairs. I mean if it had been sung in another language than my mother tongue.
