Here's the rest of the games I taped. For the most part, gaming on this machine is perfect. You have to think, this is a single 1.6 GHz athlon, and an ATI Radeon 3410. All these games were being played on Windows 7. Games that use Directx 10/10.1 tend to work a lot better in DX10 mode. DX9 games are playbable, as you can see from Doom 3. I also have Quake 4 running fine on this machine as well.

Any other games you'd like to see, let me know. Don't forget to comment/rate.

The next video will show how well creative software like corel painter, photoshop, autodesk sketchbook pro and inventor, blender, etc., run on this machine. It's a great laptop, and I've already put it through its paces. All of my HP DV2 videos on my account were taped with a Canon A640, then edited and rendered on my HP DV2 using Corel Videostudio.

  • ASUS and MSI has a similar laptop. But it's waayyy cheaper (at $400) and has better specs. But it was only released this month. I'm talking about the ASUS EEE PC 1201T and MSI U230. Both have an Athlon Neo X2 and a Radeon HD 3200 with a 12" 1336x768 screen. The best part is it's almost as thin as a Macbook Air.

  • Not quite. The dv2 has the ATI 3410, the 3200 performs less. Honestly the only super portable on the market that matches is the new intel DM3 from HP and a 12 inch from alienware that just got anounced, rocking an awesome price tag of 700 dollars. Be careful with those super skinny notebooks, chances are high the cooling fans will run all the time and be very loud.

  • price?

  • mine was 650 U.S. $'s at newegg

  • i just got the HP dm3 a few weeks ago, its got a 13.3" screen and is a bit bigger then the dv2, however, it comes with the duelcore neo, or the coreduo from intel, 512 megs video, 4 gigs ram, and a 320gig hd, i picked mine up at a wal-mart in town for just under 500$ price vs specs i couldnt find a better deal ne where. i have been played ut2004 at max settings it plays it perfectly.. i am bout to try some other games, but this little computer is a workhorse! its powerful despite its size!

  • Yeah, they are nice. That dm3 is basically the dv2 with 1 more inch of screen space. I love this size notebook. I'm glad to hear you like it.

  • If you wana game online get a proper pc or a HP probook

  • everything is faster than a netbook.

because netbooks are made for the internet and nothing else.

get a real pc or good working laptop

  • Can anyone say if this is faster than a Netbook with Atom and ION graphics (9300M)??

    Ty

  • The Radeon HD 3410 is basically a HD 3200 with higher clocks. Nothing more. The performance advantage of the HD 3410 is about 5% north of the HD 3200 at most, which is negligible.

Regarding the "super skinny" notebooks, I've got Mini 311 (Atom+Ion). It's not noisy at all. It's very silent even when it's at load. I wish the ASUS 1201T was released sooner. Even with the Ion, the Atom is still horribly slow. The Athlon Neo X2 performs almost as fast as those entry-level Intel Core 2 ULVs.

  • r yh that's not 2 bad

i shud hopefully get 1 in feb for £370

so i'll add u (thanx 4 the help)

  • well as u know depends on internet connection ^^. for mw2 multiplayer my graphics settings are textures=high, normal, normal. so its pretty good..

  • im just thinking of getting one, but i wanted to know how the online gaming is

  • ya why? my nickname ahlisunnah91 :P
