I normally make rosehip jelly in the early autumn but as a result of the mild winter (2011/12) I was able to pick rosehips in December. In this video I show you how to make them into a jelly.

  • How do you "sterilise" your jars? I have been filling jars with water and giving them a blast in the microwave for a few minutes. Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen a video of you microwaving anything. Do you have one?

  • could one still make this if they took as many seeds from the hips as they could ?

  • Congratulations! Looks delicious!

  • Rosehip syrup is very nice on icecream. It makes quite a pleasant summer cordial with iced water, too. You get it in the babies' section of the supermarket. But I suppose it should be quite easy to stew and brew up some syrup, as you have done. Have you seen the rose-hip teabags they sell?
