Please read the whole description:
I was on the subway in Beijing when this woman passed by begging, perhaps for money. I didn't have any change to give it to her so she kept on walking and asking other people without disturbing anyone. She walked with the help of crutches and looked frail. Two guys felt bothered with the woman asking for money and before I realized the woman was on the floor pushed by one of the man. That was very sad to watch. I deeply regret not helping her. My first instinct was to go and help her, but I didn't because I felt scared to get into deep trouble being a foreigner without speaking the language, like bing blamed for disrupting the train, or being attacked by the thugs? (I don't trust the Chinese police and law system). I've heard that in China one can get in trouble just for helping, and perhaps that's why no one helped. I started recording it so the faces of those two horses who pushed that lady on the floor so they would be registered. As I was recording one of the guys saw me and tried to get my camera, and I had to hide my camera quickly and get out of the train.

Please understand that my point with this video is not to BASH China, (those people does not represent the majority of the country) but as country who is making so much money that fast, they need to know that money is not everything. Kindness, respect to others, and good social manners it's really what means to be rich and the government should encourage this through education. And this is not only for China, in many countrys around the world people are becoming more and more heartless. As for myself I learned a lot from the experience, and I still think about the poor lady.

  • To continue, what is needed here is constructive criticism, not useless bashing that fuels racism and misunderstanding. Remember, that is how wars start, w/ the case in point being the European powder keg that led to WWI and decades of misery. What is needed is public awareness and education, and of course, time, since new generations needs to be raised instilling altruistic values so that there are people who are willing to aid and defend total strangers in public settings.

  • Sad how everyone is bashing Chinese and Asians in general. The behavior of 2 people on the subway should not characterize the behavior of 1.3 billion people. Even the poster said that the video is not meant to bash China and its people. As people also mentioned, no country is perfect. A homeless illegal immigrant in NYC saved a lady from a rapist and was wounded a while back. His reward was bleeding to death while ~10 ppl walked by w/o even trying to help.

  • US version: /watch?v=p0vKgoD4Iro. Thumbs up so that others can also watch

  • fuckin sadistic asians

  • :'( that is so sad!! these people are such idiots! she seems harmless.

  • If i was there and saw that i would take her stick and smack it over that guys head

  • im not against this type of shit but if you can't behave properly in society, you shouldnt be a part of it.

  • That's why, in the description box, the person who uploaded the video said that helping out in China may cause one to get in trouble in some sort of way. So, people learn from this generous man's story and now, they are afraid or don't want to be a part of this (anything that has to do with helping) because they don't want to be sued or jailed for something they didn't do. So thanks to that one family, people don't want to be generous anymore.

  • I don't know what they are saying but I have heard that in the past that there's this generous Chinese man who helped out a grandma (she injured herself) and took her to her house. When they got there, her family didn't appreciate his help and sued him. Their reason was that the generous Chinese man was the one that injured their grandma (or mother) and I guess the judge granted that lawsuit to the family so the Chinese man had to paid lots of money for something that he did not cause.
