2011 Annual Meeting of the Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau

Bill Ayer, Chairman and CEO of Alaska Airlines, visited the Tri-Cities and spoke at the Annual Meeting of the Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau. Alaska Airlines is the nation's ninth-largest airline, with 9,000 employees, serving 60 destinations.
When the airline industry began to struggle in 2008 due to astronomical fuel prices and falling passenger demand, Alaska Airlines weathered the storm as Ayer led his company to become an industry leader. In 2010 Alaska Airlines made company history by earning record profits. Aviation Week named Alaska the 2010 top-performing legacy carrier, despite being the smallest of the United States network carriers. And for the past three years, J.D. Power and Associates has ranked Alaska "highest in customer satisfaction among traditional network carriers."
The Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau hosted its Annual Meeting and Tourism Tradeshow Showcase Monday, November 7, 2010 from
4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick.

Immediately following the Business Meeting, the Tourism Showcase Reception opened with more than 50 booths and exhibitor displays from tourism-related projects, businesses, wineries, hotels, museums, and regional attractions. A selection of light hors d'oeuvres and local wines was served.
