@Seveq Ah, that's a bug in the German version of MudBox. Restarting it in English solves the problem.

I've got another problem here: I'm not able to extract a 16bit tiff heightmap. It's always 8bit no matter what I choose and hence results in a stairs effect in worldmachine. Any idea?

Hey, i ahve problem in mudbox with extracting displacment map, there is some problems on Terrain_LP, cann`t get it working smooth, tried to make bigger search distance but still some some holes in Terrain_LP! :(

@zxcottonxz add another subdivision, and increase the strenth and make sure you choose a stamp.

Can you do a terrain without World Machine, it is so expensive to buy for me, so i want to know how to make terrain just in Mudbox/Zbrush Max/Maya and then export it to UDK/CryEngine

@Bo3082 Ofcourse you can, I'm currently training myself to do so. You just need to be very familiar with each brush in mudbox and paint your color map inside mudbox :).
