I'm a big fan of 73-77 LTDs, and your car is perfect!
And thank you for not making the inner headlights red! I hate it when vintage police car owners do that.

@SheriffTankStoner The Dodge Coronet and Plymouth Satellite cars were used in Walter Matthau's movie " The Laughing Policeman " , in 1974 . SFPD doesn't loan out their police cars from a current fleet , but do once the 5 to 7 year use has expired . Currently , SFPD buys new vehicles for it's patrol fleet every two years insted of annually due to the city's budget crisis . SFPD will be choosing between the Ford Taurus and the Dodge Charger police interceptor since retirement of the Crown Vic

@Medic83301 Thank you for that info. Now it got me to wondering if the police cars used in 'Bullitt' and the first 3 Dirty Harry movies were loaned out by the SFPD. In the original Dirty Harry during the 'jumper' scene I thought I saw either a 1971 Plymouth Satellite or Dodge Coronet used for one of the patrol cars. In 'The Enforcer' a 1973 Ford Torino was made up as an SFPD car and was seen right after Harry and Kate depart from the 'Fillmore VFW'.

@SheriffTankStoner They used Ford Galaxie 500's .

@Medic83301 What did the SFPD have from 1966 to 1971?
-
@tbonemagnum A lot of the crime-drama shows on ABC during the 1970's used Fords exclusively as ABC had a working agreement with the Ford Motor Company

Great, now drive it through Chicago like you own the place and you'll have yourself a movie. Oh wait, that's not a dodge. Dane, what do you do for a living where you can afford so many buggies? Don't wanna tell? That's okay, but please do let us see your neighborhood and town -- via a drive-through.

I worked at an used Car Lot in Panama City, FL. in 1975
I drove a 1974 Ford Galaxy 500 ex-Police Car with the 460PI engine.
My Boss purchased 9 Sheriff Cruisers with the 460 Police Interceptor engine.
He had them all painted white with tan vinyl tops and full LTD size hub caps.
The Certified Calibrated Speedometer would go past 140 mph and
the right rear tire would spin 150+ feet on hard take-off.
The 1975 Ford 460PI was not as fast as the 74, according to the Deputy's.
Great info. Thanks alot ;o)
I bought the car from a Policecar restorer in The Bay Area last year, and brough it to Denmark. I also have a 1971 Plymouth Fury, that originally was a copcar. It's from Walnut Creek PD.
