Meng Foong, teacher at Yoga Now Malaysia, demonstrates some advanced variations of yoga poses including Chakrasana (wheel), Kakasana (crow), Sirshasan (headstand), Poorna Salabasan (full locust), Kapothasan (pigeon).

  • @cheeseygymnast No frowns. The difference is in the mind and the aims. Contortion stops at the body. Yoga starts with the mind, then goes beyond that. Flexibility and happiness are not inextricably linked.

  • You're 22 years old according to your profile, so young enough that if you practice regularly you would become agile and strong enough to perform any of these poses. But whether you can or not is not the point - its the hours of self discovery that you put in getting there. Yoga is a path, not a goal. Traditionally Asians squat and sit on the floor a lot more than westerners, so they don't tighten up the same way as westerners do. As for headstand - it's all in the mind - it's not so difficult.
