the game is slow paced but very rewarding. Download the demo and giv it a try. Spend the time and do the tutoial you will need it so you dont feel overwhelmed by the size and customization the game has to offer.

I'm totally interested in this game for the potential of strategy and the fact that it's in space. Don't think I've ever seen an even remotely good space game. The one thing I definitely won't do is pay a monthly fee to play though. Is there a monthly fee with this game?

yes there is a fee. If you want to try it you can download the demo and play for free for a week.

not yet. You can dock into space ports and refit you ship, sell ore, get missions and contracts buy and sell. There is a walking in stations patch in the works where you can walk around and interact with people but all the combat will be kept in space with ships fighting each other. If you are interested in seeing it search for walking in stations video. on youtube of course.
