That is a Model 586. It is the blued equivalent of the currently produced 686. The 586 dates from 1980. In 1986 they were subject to a recall for the hammer nose; certain brands of ammunition would cause the cylinder to lock up, I believe it has to do with with the primer on the ammo. S&W will still fix the issue; My1986 Model 686 had the modification done. I would call them.
Looks like a sibling version of my .357 Maggie Model 19-4 from 1980. Been having a strong tugging on the heart strings to toss a few hunks of lead downrange with mine. This video might just be the final nudge to make that happen very soon. Thanks for sharing!
