Spiral Knights - Boycott

TL;DR: Three Rings has gotten extremely greedy with how they handle Spiral Knights, and are milking ways to make players spend more energy while completely disregarded player input, all the while adding new content not designed to improve the game, but to endorse more methods of spending energy. If you want to partake in the boycott, you only have to not buy energy with real money. You don't have to stop playing entirely if you still like it enough. No one will blame you.

July 7th: New content! Everyone should be happy. Of course, that's what Three Rings is saying, hoping their players don't notice an underhanded moneygrab they laid out in their new content, the Ironclaw Munitions Factory.

Besides, of course, having to emergency patch the area and the boss TWICE (like they always have to, they do not believe in testing content before they release it), and the energy everyone wasted getting down there only to be met with two invisible, turbo lag causing bosses, Ironclaw Munitions was, quite literally, DESIGNED to make you lose money.

So, while most people are excited for new content and rush straight in, Biznasty counts the crowns.

First level, only 1,200~ crowns. The second, a pathetic 600 crowns. If you were to play this area over and over, you wouldn't be able to afford energy, especially while these costs are rising.

Meanwhile, over at the Royal Jelly Palace and Firestorm Citadel, the jellies and slags are making it rainn with crowns. Eveyone's a king at those parties! So why do they release content /no one/ should play if they like having money?

Because they expect their players to be dumb enough to not notice.

i've spent that much.

was it worth it? to collect the gears and costumes, yeah sure.

but i can never taste that same feeling again, the feeling i had before that $450, when i waited everyday for that 100 mist to regenerate, and the excitement when i crafted my first three stars.

now that i've seen much part of the game, there is little anticipation left.

fancy gears for that feeling of love and passion, was it a good trade?

i don't know.

I loved the explorers pack sale during the 2011 holidays, I think that was one good deal.

I think having to wait 22 hours to play another dungeon is good. If that limit wasn't set and if I wasn't scared of losing CE, then I would have been an addict and playing for hours straight. With only 100 ME and waiting 22hours to play, I only play for an hour at least. That's good enough for me. <:

Spiral Knights isn't a perfect game, but they could do a lot worse. Believe me. Shin Megami Tensei: IMAGINE is a decent game that is handled a LOT worse. By level like 40-50 out of 90, you have basically hit the wall for what you can do as a free player without grinding your brains out, and the paid content is priced absolutely obscenely. The problem is Free MMOs. The thing is, the people who run it need to make money or there would be no Spiral Knights TO bitch about.
