This defense of the Gospel & exaltation of God is from Jeff Durbin of Apologia Christian Ministries: http://www.defendthefaith.org

Mormonism rather than being Christocentric is church-egocentric. It is twistology of theology, sedition of addition, and infusion of confusion, very radically unlike the purity, simplicity and power of devotion to Christ so gloriously lived and ministered by the church of the first century.

Many Mormons remain in the LDS church due to their unwillingness to conjure the courage to research their church's history outside sanitized, revisionist sources that are the work of deliberate deception.

Paul Richards, who left BYU in 1992 as BYU spokesman... 'I worked in public affairs for the church for 13 years, and I had to lie all the time...'(The Arizona Republic Oct. 10, 1993, quoted in Issue 85 (Nov. 1993) of the Salt Lake Messenger)

Ken Clark, a former LDS CES Institute Director for 27 years, illustrates how the Mormon Church utilizes deceptions and outright lies to maintain control over members and potential converts to Mormonism. Watch the 10 part series "Lying for the Lord" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRzHUMyukCM

He has been active in the Mormon History Association and on the board of directors of the Salt Lake Legal Defenders Association. He is the author of An Insider's View of Mormon Origins and The Incomparable Jesus.

Love Mormons; abhor Mormonism. Earnestly contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints according to Jude 3. Exult in and exalt Christ alone. Speak the Truth in love. Detest the damnable heresies of devils' doctrines that are the ongoing work of seducing, lying spirits of deception and error, emmisaried to divert, mormonize and bastardize Bible belief.

"If you want to boast, take pride in the things that make you weak, for when you are weak, you are strong - in Him. Be afraid of the praise and acceptance of others, for they are the fertilizer for the self-important and grandiose thoughts that are yours by nature anyway, which spring up in the shallow ground of your carnal mind. Carry about the Death of the Lord so you may have the Life of the Lord. Be ready to suffer with Him, that you may reign with Him." Chip Brogden

  • I feel sorry that LDS are possessed by the spirit of Mormonism. An LDS this evening told me that we are not to worship Jesus! Astounding! And then we read Smith's demonic discourse & blasphemous blundering in his Follet sermon & see what this god he describes in the LDS Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith has in common with the eternality & supernality of the One True God. And they claim to be the one true church... what a wreck that is.

  • The arrogant LDS guy is is basically trying to put Jeff down by saying he hasn't mentioned anything of substance in the presentation. Then, when Jeff asks him a direct question, the LDS guy doesn't know the answer. Got caught, son! Many times the LDS will just say "Those issues have been answered" but they don't know the actual answer.

  • thank you for loving the mormons enough to speak the truth. God is preparing hearts. So glad someone loved me enough to talk to me about the truth.

  • @LogosTheos

Much more than that. I will pray for you. God opened my eyes to the truth. Now I feel I must share with others that Jesus is the only way.

  • I debate Muslims, pseudo-biblical Unitarians, Arians, universalist and so on but never Mormons, don't know to much about their doctrine only that they believe 3 gods and that we can become gods.

  • @MasterWerx

..."I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints. Why involve yourself in a debate you are not ready for."...

    1 Peter 3:15(a)

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and BE READY ALWAYS to GIVE AN ANSWER to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you"

    I KNOW what I believe.

I KNOW why I believe it.

I will give you straight-forward answers from Scripture.

I will tell you in detail.

    I won't shuffle around.

I won't refer you to anyone else.

  • @101mythbuster

...".The fact that other Gods may exist does not diminish God's greatness. That's equivalent to saying my dad is less a father because of other peoples fathers which also exist."...

How many Fathers do you have?

God claims that He and He alone Fathered/Created you.

God says He created the first 'Man'.

If God is your Father you are a 'Man'.

Therefore no sentient being created by another god would be a 'Man'.

What, in your opinion, are all these other gods creating?

  • In order to openly espouse Mormonism and the teachings of Joseph Smith you must look God in the eye and call Him a liar.

There is no 'Apologetic' I have heard from any LDS source that gives room to side-step this.

No matter which Mormon you are talking to you will be directed to ANOTHER Mormon for answers.

I've never heard a Mormon confront the inconsistencies without telling me to "Read and Pray about it" and leave it there.

No direct answers because the BoM can't provide them.

    1 Peter 3:15

  • why would any one even want to be a Mormon besides the fact that they want to become a god what a sad religion howe can anyone believe this garbage

  • What happens when you die? Have you told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain? If yes, then you're a liar, thief, and a blasphemer in the sight of God. When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin, & go to Hell! But God sent God His Son Jesus to shed His blood & die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose again from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus's death for your sins, His burial & resurrection)you'll not perish & have everlasting life!

  • @figgytwo1 Amen.
