  • For some it may indeed be easier to use the index finger and indeed I could do. I however find it equaly easy to use my middle finger on 2nd string and 3rd finger on the top string.

    This leaves the index free for the occasional excursions to the third string.

    It is a clasical technique. There is loads about it on t'internet.

    Once your individual fingers have learned to work independantly the clasical style is easier and more versitile.

  • On other videos yoy may see occasoind when I play the 1st and 3rd string as part of an arpeggio or roll, missing the 2nd string by not using the middle finger.
