  • I know exactly what this is, its your driver transistors pre output stage, when they pack up they dont send enough voltage into the bias of the main output transistors and it sounds terribly distorted and thats what causes the red clip light to come on. Replace both sets of driver transistors, theres 2 for each channel, 1 pnp and 1 npn, i think they are 2sc2240 and 2sa970 but not 100%,or take it to a repairer and ask them to replace the driver transistors, rob.

  • @SP330Y Thanks for the reply, i'll take note of this and ask my local electronics repair shop for a quote. How much do you think the transistors will cost?

  • Still not solved, i think its a transistor problem.

  • if you look away from the problems it is a good amp then? it could operate Cerwin Vega hp215 easily?

  • That the clipped? Easy this and all amplifiers work with this Protective when we want to place speakers outside their omeage set, the three-way speaker you want to amplify this person I imagine that your course is 2 omeage will immediately send the clip

  • @P1001AT2 Those Crowns are made in China, too. My buddies died at a gig a month ago.

  • mate it could be a few very simple things you might want to try. I have the same phone as what was i the video and everytime i put it onto my system i sounds exacly the same as yours, But as soon as i change the music sourse it sounds fine, Also are you running your phone into a mixer then into your amp or just run the cable from your phone to amp?
