Oblivion-Midas Magic Crossword Walkthrough FAQ

1.Q: I went through the first portal by the the crossword, and there are a bunch of doors but they dont work. Whats wrong?

A: These doors dont work yet. The astral plane has to be activated first.

2. Q: I went through the portal by the crossword but now where do I go?

A: You must use the spell Midas Ice walk, or Midas magic carpet to reach the floating island you can see in the distance.

3. Q: Umm I made it to the floating island, but Now what do I do?

A: There is a rock you can open with an unlock spell. use the spell and go inside.

4. Q: I found all the crystals except one, where is it?

A: its probably in the water area, its easy to miss this one. Follow the big fish underwater and he will guide you to where you need to go.

5. Q: My crossword looks different than the one in the video.It has 2 more questions? What are the answers?

A: The video is an older version of Midas Magic There is a new Version of Midas Magic with 2 more questions added. The questions are: Of Death And Darkness and Light of the Heavens. The answers are LATE and STAR.

6. Q: How do you put in the answers to the crossword? It wont let me type in anything.

A : You cant type in the answers on the crossword peice of paper. You need to go to the alter by the BIG astral gate. Use the keypad on the alter to type in the answers. then press the middle button on the alter. This procedure will open the gate.

7. Q : I opened the Big gate using an answer to the crossword but it wont let me in. I keep clicking on the outside frame but nothing happens. Whats wrong?

A : Once the gate is open, you dont have to click on anything. Just walk through, and it will teleport you to the astral plane associated with the answer you typed in.

8. Q : I see the island Im supposed to get onto. But how do I make the spell Magic Carpet or Icewalk? I cant find astral beacon caps.

A : The Flying Carpet is made from a Gold Nugget, Midas Cloth, and Ectoplasm.(you can find the cloth inside Midas Magic) IceWalk is made from a Gold Nugget, Frost Salts, and a Midas Astral Beacon Cap.(An Astral Beacon Cap can be found in the realm when you first go through the small portal in Midas Magic. Look for a mushroom around the edges by some rocks)

EDIT- Ive heard the flying carpet does not work because for some reason the Midas Realm is indoors. Ice walk should still work though. Also the Akatosh Dragon mount will get you there(if you have that mod. I dont know if you can find it on TESNEXUS or not. Also if all else fails console commands will get you there. Bring up the console (~ button)and type in tcl and you can just walk across to it.


9. Q : Does it matter what order I do the planes?

A : No it doesnt matter.

10. Q : Are you supposed to press the button outside Midas Magic before entering?

A : You dont have to. All the button does is reset the inside of Midas Magic. Which means if something fell off a shelf or the place got all messy from a battle in there or something. Pressing the button will reset the room to its original state.

11. What mod are you using for ..Loading screens, health bar, music...ect...ect...ect?

A : Actually Im not too sure. I have merged most of my mods, so they are combined into one .esp file. But guaranteed all of them can be found on TESNEXUS.com Look for them there.

some ppl say mods are "piracy" i dont think so, i see them as fan-made improvements, just wanted to clear that up for anyone conflicted about getting mods

@Mikeybetts your right! they are NOT piracy! Bethesda releases a construction set for every RPG game they make, encouraging gamers to build thier own content. Then you can upload the new content to websites like Tesnexus, and the new content becomes available for the pulic to download.

@TeamSebas I did that the first time I did the Midas Magic quests, and ofc you won't miss that much.

But still, pretty lame. :P

@xavier5harris Levithian, you might not be able to see him, but if you don't. Just check out your map in your quest log (Not the world one, the detailed one.) You'll see two doors (At least I did) swim in that direction and you'll see the fish/the rock where the next door is.
