Kate the Naturalist shares her excitement on arriving in Ushuaia, Argentina, where her ship to Antarctica will depart. She will be one of the naturalists on board Cheesemans' Ecology Safaris tour to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and the Antarctic Peninsula from December 2011 31 to January 25, 2012. Ushuiaia, in Tierra del Fuego, is the southernmost city in the world and many Antarctic tours and research vessels dock here, sailing into the relative safety of the Beagle Channel from the tempestuous Drake Passage and the open Southern Ocean.
