Sylva Leader 400 with a Guy Croft 2L Fiat Twincam. This was the third go at getting it started, using the Alfa with its engine at tick over supplying the volts. The Dellortos have their cold start venturis open and so the idle was around 2000RPM. Noisy top end is normal with the cams it has fitted.

  • Looks very nice! I also have a Yellow Leader with a Guy Croft built engine.(1800) Are you putting it back on the road?

  • Yes I am. As we speak I am looking for a suitable battery to replace the (now discontinued) Exide torque starter RE2.

  • Bits of Italy (BOI performance) build fiat engines of all varieties with any combination u want and the make the same figures that the croft motors do but on wet sumps with no accusumps or any other type of oil loss prevention kits and these motors have proven them selves in events such as targa tasmania and targa nz we have customers all over the eu that swear by our motors for their 124, 131, and x19s

  • Thats a very nasty comment to make in general about Guy Croft . He does some beautifull work on Fiat twin cams . Whos so great down under then ?

  • ".....we are building fiat 2L twin cam engines running to over......"

    Who's we???

  • Im sorry to say but Guy Croft motors are over rated, we are building fiat 2L twin cam engines running to over 8000rpm on a wet sump and they will do it all day everyday, some of his ideas are good but the rest is just crap and he builds absolute hand grenade engines. But on the up side that exhaust manifold is beautiful you must be making some very nice torque figures, the pipes look a little big but i dont know the tune your running the engine to, All in all a well presented car
