I lived outside DC when Williams led the Skins to the Super Bowl--I actually ran across him pumping his own gas at a station near Redskins Park in Herndon once. (His car back then was a beat-up 5-year-old Saab!) The word around there was that Williams was a nice guy, very down-to-earth.
15 pass plays. Just goes to show how much confidence McKay had in his QB. How the Buc's even got to the NFC Championship game that year really says a lot about that defense.
The '79 Bucs team should have played in Super Bowl XIV and if they had gone on to play the Steelers, even though I wasn't born yet, it would have been one interesting matchup. Also, this was the year that Doug Williams and at the time a relatively unknown offensive coordinator named Joe Gibbs were working together and 8 years later in Washington would become a part of Super Bowl history.
7/15.. That was common during that era. But it's funny to hear. That not even a half for a QB in today's NFL.

15 pass plays was a plus for the bucs at that time during the playoffs. mainly cause of the fact that they were a defensive team.
