In September of 1993, 6 Mormon "intellectuals" were disciplined by the LDS church: 5 of them excommunicated, and 1 of them dis-fellowshipped.

Perhaps the most strident and controversial of the 6 was Paul Toscano.

This is his story.

  • Also, it's ironic that an excommunicate has built my faith so much.

    Thank you, Paul.

  • @UShistoryX2 I love "Strangers in Paradox". I feel like it helped me reconcile and understand a lot of disparate and mysterious aspects of the Gospel which I knew to be important, but didn't know why. It gave me such a profound level of enlightenment, the kind of enlightenment I've been thirsting after for years now.

Honestly, if even one of the conference talks every session were anywhere close to being as substantive as that book, I'd be having a spiritual feast every 6 months.

  • Boyd K. Packer has been making troublesome comments/actions for ages...

  • Call me crazy but it was Paul and Margaret Toscano's Book "Strangers in Paradox" that helped me stay in the Church.

  • God bless you Paul.
