Silpheed For The PC-8801 1986 Completed Part 1.
Silpheed game was created for the PC-8801 in 1986.
The NEC PC-8801 system was introduced by the NEC Corporation in 1981 and was an early Zilog Z80-based computer. The PC-88, as it is informally called, became very popular in Japan but did not see release in other markets

  • BTW, don't you love that big, menacing fortress in stage 4? Sail up, penetrate the outer defense, fight through the enemeies inside, then...emerge. ("Wait, I'm not supposed to even *try* to destroy it? You sure those are my orders?" :-D)

  • Wow ... this looks really good for an early Z80 based system. Music/Sound is pretty impressive for such an early system as well. shame it never set a foot into europe.

  • My fave version!

  • i have an original copy. i still know some code to enter at the beginning of the gam. so think how many time spent on this game. i still don't have finished it. can someone help me?

  • Ple-sen-tuh bah Gemm-uh! LMAO!!!!! THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!

  • Notice something different about stage 3? The planet backdrop indicates a "high skill" stage...so called because there are no powerups whatsoever, which makes survival even more painful. Look at the damage he took here. And this is just the first one; believe me, it gets worse. (In fariness, Phalanx probably wasn't the best choice; I would've gone with V on both sides.)

  • That big talking head is the main bad guy. He's basically informing you that he swiped Gloire, this super-advanced battleship, and you can't beat him so long as he possesses it. (Gloire...another great name. "Gloy-ray? Glow-ayer? Glah-eer? Dammit!"

Right form the start of the game, you see how intense it is. This is one of those games where it's simply extremely hard not to get hit.

  • This is a lot better looking than the PC version.
