WBAP received from Philadelphia on October 21, 1983, 2.00 - 2.10 a.m. Eastern time. This how the station would come in on good nights before CHAM in Hamilton, Ontario moved to this frequency in 1985. WBAP was one of my favorite DX catches.
I could tell by just listening to this that it was a Friday. I looked it up and it was. There was something so comforting about listening to this station and its format in those days. I miss the Rangers and Mavericks and later on the Stars on the Mighty B-A-P!! Sometimes late at night, I will listen to this clip just to have a taste of those days of late night country music.

Even though I agree with a lot of the programming on WBAP, I would much rather have the format that they had in the 80's and much like what is on this clip.
Up to the minute news without it being 24 hours of news/talk.

This takes me back. To me, this is what growing up in North Texas was all about. Country music, Rangers and Mavericks all on WBAP.

That is over 1,200 miles from Philadelphia!!
WBAP is actually one of the few stations west of the Mississippi River to be assigned a callsign starting with "W"
