This is the fourth in the series of the original Channel 4 trade test tapes, and it contains some of the tracks from the same source as the Channel 4 series Years Ahead, so enjoy!!!!

  • The opener is a cracker! So tuneful yet upbeat, and I love the way it builds up gradually into something quite spectacular. Better than most of the popular music of its day as well....

  • I'm looking for Keith Mansfield - Teamwork. I think it's on the KPM 1260 LP. Does anyone know if I can find it on YouTube? (or anywhere else)

  • @JFredUK, that's just what I used to do! I thought this music was lost forever! Thank goodness for YouTube and people like cwilliams1976!

  • @norwind I remember doing the same thing back in the summer of '82. Recorded all my, 'favourites', onto a C-90 cassette. And,as you say, all in mono. It's great to be able to hear, (some of), them in clean stereo after all these years.

  • I did not have a VCR back then,so i would record TV audio onto cassette tape,of course it was in mono back then, sounds even better in stereo !

  • @wullnull Brilliant, thanks for the information!

  • @alisoneales Hi Alison - track 2 here is 'Disco Dive' by Trevor Bastow. I don't think YouTube allows external links, but if you Google 'plucky fella testcard' the first hit should be a site where someone's listed the CH4 testcard cue sheets.

There are several rather pleasant David Snell tracks on there.

  • @alisoneales Thanks Alison . . . David Snell trio - superb !

  • The tune from 8.05 is 'Plucky Fella' by David Snell. I love it! Would like to know what the track before it was.

  • This was always my brothers favorite tape this one. Preferred Almost Together myself!

  • Commander Williams does it again!
