  • why his sidekicks are so high. that isn't right

  • what i learned is also high sidekicks...

maybe someone can clarify on this...thanks

  • but this cant be ordinary itf, the suit he wore wasnt the classic itf..?

  • i think they put in some elements of their own club into the uniform...

  • You guys crack me up. Each school introduces variants of the classic traditional form. There is no wrong or right, there are only variations. This guy is a highly skilful practicioner of one ITF style. His form is a high standard for a 2nd Dan.

  • Nope, it should be middle sidekick, not high. We didn't kick at the right hights as GTF. In the GTF competition high kicks gave better score in patterns. But now that we are back in the ITF we have adjusted our kicks to the way they are supposed to be. Midlde :)

  • @genomaM But, for sparring, or real fighting, we are taught not to kick above the hip, for obvius reasons... and not to be "bouncing" all the time, and some other things. Besides, the wave movement helps to do movementes appear more elegant; remember we do a martial art, adn not just a sport...

  • @jeneab94 mmm dont know what tkd youre talking about... anyway, i understand wt you say about "bouncing"; but maybe it would be interesting for yu to know, taht in ITF TKD we are taught to kick ( in kwang gae) middle and upper section, but that is just for patterns, just to develop the body, elasticity and all that stuff (as Bruce Lee used to say: "if you want to be ready for battle, then you´d better train every part of your body").

  • @genomaM im not in any of those categories at all...i just do proper tae kwon , the one where you don't bounce like a bouncing ball. and i mean the kicks in this pattern are meant to be mid section, like alll the other patterns all kicks are mid section up until your 4th or 5th dan.

  • @jeneab94 I guess you do... wtf tkd maybe? Or another style... I dont know. What I do know is that ITF is the style general Choi developed, since he started developing TKD

  • @genomaM properly according to general choi before he got old and lazy and introduced ITF, it makes no sence.

  • @jeneab94 properly according to WHO?

  • @Khmer7 the first sidekick is on knees and the second one its a middle kick... and he shouldn`t move his arm when he is kicking...

    sorry about my english

  • @pradsjnaparamitasutr the dobok its different for every school...

  • Haha

    @ninj4stud

    I know, right?

I was reading all these comments and I'm like cracking up haha :]

  • *should be pressing kick (low section), middle side kick. Other than that, the practitioner is awesome.
