All Disney sequels/prequels are shit except for this one because it's a midquel and I never expected the animation and story (i have to give credit to it for being original compared to the first one's adapted story) to be good as the first one.

At least all the cast members are back, the addition of new characters are necessary except for Forte because he is a great villain marvellously voiced by Tim Curry and the songs can manage to be good without Alan Manken (it's a shame, I know).

Yes you're right, the story's french, although I'm not sure if the "original" production really was in French since Disney is an american company...

@jsininger Well I know part of it was that Return of Jafar was made as a pilot episode for the TV series, and King of Thieves was kind of a bookend to all that.
