I'm not sure what . . . but something didn't capture me on that. I fought stopping it a few times.
Now I'm confused, since I friggin love singing barbershop.

I... must watch... again. This was fabulous. When the chords ring so powerfully, and the slides and sweeps are done so well that I get goosebumps, a tear in my eye, and choked up just because of the gorgeous sound... it makes me REALLY miss singing barbershop. Kudos! Serious and honest kudos!

Great Northern Union got flat out robbed. Plain and simple.

Oh, and Joey

About two and a half years ago I got interested in barbershop, and now when I see a new video (like this) I can immediately spot Patrick Haedtler, Christian Espinoza, and one of the guys from Westminster.

@ZakksKingdom - agree, GNU kicked it and I really believed that MoH had been unseated.

I know it's their style to perform barbershop well, but sometimes I wish the Masters would push the rules of barbershop. It's like watching Tiger Woods play putt putt golf for money.

@amWinRAR thats because it is. :)

The guy that has the opening speech could totally be Jeff Oxley's son

Wasn't the sound man paying attention at the beginning? The mic was turned up halfway through the introduction.
@lee80us Please do your homework before you make incorrect comments, sir. As OCtenor2 said Westminster doesn't look for credit. Just average everyday normal people who are trying there best to make there lives and MOSTLY the lives of other people touched by there awesome music. Barbershop shouldn't be about winning all the time but striving to entertain people and enrich the lives of others.

@lee80us You bring up a point worth mentioning. Yes, Westminster sat out once (6 yrs ago) in '05. Then they went back and placed 2nd in '06 against VM, and won the gold in '07 against AOH. Not really sure of the point of point you were making. Westminster has never been looking for "credit". Bunches of dudes singing bunches of chords. Pretty much sums up every weekly rehearsal, afterglow, and contest performance - regardless of the outcome. Why does barbershop have to be about 'beating' others?
