Marlena also sells 100% authentic pigments and she is a great lady. I am proud to say I consider her a friend.

Materials You Will Need to Press Pigments:
Rubbing Alcohol
Syringe or Eyedropper
1 Tsp Measuring Spoon or Plastic Medicine Cup
Pigment Sample of Your Choice
Toothpick or Tiny Plastic Spatula
Metal Eyeshadow Pan
Eyeshadow Palette to Put Your New Pressed Shadow In
Quarter
Piece of Ribbon or Cloth to create Hatchmark (I used an old T-Shirt)

Note: This will not work on Matte pigments, glitters or on mineral eyeshadows of any sort. Only on MAC Pigments will this method work because they have binders in them. If you try this with Matte Pigments, glitters, Mineral eyeshadows or any other loose shadow the shadows will not stay pressed together. Trust me!

  • Too bad mzchio is gone???? WOW LOL

  • Hmm, I had no idea she left. Thanks for the comment and letting me know. I'll have to add some annotations to his video. I wonder what happened? Hmm, if you read this ms chio let me know where you went lol :S

  • Erica thanks so much for the video, I just order my palattes and pans from starsmakeuphaven! Would this work for NYX pigments too or do you need a binder?

  • You would need to use a binder, I pressed a matte eyeshadow with Chi Silk Infusion the other day and it turned out great :D Or you can go to Sally's and they have a generic biosilk that will work just the same I just put some of that and some alcohol and it worked perfect

  • You can also get a binder at diycosmetics(dot)com. you only need about a drop or two and regular amounts of alcohol to press matte and mineral pigments.

To my knowledge, EZ press is a dilluted mixture so that you can use it on its own. Personally, I prefer the binder from that website and rubbing alcohol. You can also use the pure binder in pure mica powders so they would adhere better to the skin. I hope this helps some of you=)

  • Thanks so much for the info! I will check that out! Blessings, Erica xoxo

  • WOW SUCH A CUTE SOUTHERN ACCENT!!

  • this is the best pigment video!

  • Awesome video =)

  • @padillalove1 you don't have to but it's more likely to crack and fall apart if you don't. While she says 15-20 minutes, i would let it dry a bit longer than that before you press it. It all depends on the % alcohol you use and how much you use. But you don't want to try and press it while it's still wet.

  • do you have to press them ??

  • Yeah I tried the website to no avail? Could u recommend another one? Thank u :)

  • Thanks soo much :D This is great :)

  • how long did you have to wait untill you pressed it w the quarter?

  • I've heard references to Mac pigment and pressing, and never knew what it meant. so informative and a great tutorial. thanks for sharing.
