Tornado forming and crossing Freeborn County, MN near Hollandale, MN on 17 Jun 2010. I shot this video from my backyard.
This tornado damaged trees in its smaller stage and ended up ravaging farm sites, businesses, and rural properties along its path. Its closest point to my location was approximately 1.3 miles. Unfortunately, obstructions in my line of site prevented me from getting video of it at its largest size. This tornado struck approx 1945 17 Jun 2010. Eerily, one year to the day that another tornado passed by enroute to Austin, MN.

UPDATE: Based on NWS preliminary info, just before this video ends, the tornado is an EF-3. It traveled approximately 9 miles total.

  • One of the reasons I won't move back to MN. I remember the April 19 1967 (I may

be off) when several tornadoes struck and was referred to as Black Sunday..
