I spoke to a Northern driver today & he said the correct way to drive a 156 is to start in notch 3 & then go up to notch 6 & then full power when over 10 mph

@RianTrace84 Full-throttle acceleration is pretty normal on DMUs, especially on commuter routes like this one. If anything, the driver is being less aggressive than I remember from the 1990s, as he is waiting a couple of seconds (for the transmission to engage) before throwing in full power.

i love those 14 litre cummins engines such a joy listen to but the class 156 is my best super sprinter to be honest :)
