Ok here is the story behind all this :)
As a surprise, I flew out to Texas and surprised all my Academy girls by seeing their recital and spending time w/ them all weekend. As another surprise, Jesi flew back with me to NC so that she could spend time w/ me and learn this new solo!
This will be her solo for the year, as well as for her drill team competitions. This is her costume also, thanks to Emily C. Shock for this amazing idea of using a turtleneck. All credit goes to her on that.

As for the turtleneck... the idea is that she's feeling really trapped... I won't go into what or why because that is her personal story, but it's very confining and binding. Towards the middle, she learns to reveal HERSELF and take off these layers... finally by the end, she's done with the "thing" that kept her so hidden and upset and she finally lets it go.

I'd love some feedback. Always open to suggestions. And of course, techincal/choreography problems. Keep in mind though, she learned this REALLY quickly so the cleaning and tweaking hasn't even been done. This was taped right after she learned the whole dance.

In her defense it's easier for some people to give comments whilst they're dancing so the dancer knows exactly what moment they need to correct and for the dancer they may sometimes forget they need to fix a certain moment. She's just helping the dancer get better at what she does.

The dance in general, through choreographing, has moments work it looks like SHIT. It's not the dancers fault she did very well, but whoever choreographed pieces of that, proved the sometimes some people just don't have soul.
