Greatest album of its era. Lyrically and musically BOC were brilliant AND fun, a great and too-rare combination in "hard rock."

Back in the 80s this was one of my favorites to play loud in my car, everyone else was listening to Poison and Janet Jackson. They'd stare when they heard this. I'd flash em the horns and drive on

@hotcarlcade hi, you're right, but to my ears early BOC are a lot heavier then zeppelin, aerosmith, queen, rush.......really!
i agrre that sabbath and rainbow are the only "real heavy metal" famous bands of the 70's

@hotcarlcade you 're right!!...but i can't figured out how you think that early BOC was less powerful than zeppelin, aerosmith, rush, queen.....they are heavier then tose bands, to my ears.
i agree that SABBATH e RAINBOW are the only "real" metal bands of the 70's

this was the encore when I saw BOC a few years ago. I'm glad they are still playing, and rocking hard! Got a few records signed... btw I grew up under the influence of my dad's music, he had all the great classic stuff but BOC was my favorite. I'm a classic metal kid and proud of it!

BOC IS A PIONEER OF HEAVY METAL. Their sound is lighter than that of their "metal" contemporaries (ZEPPELIN, SABBATH, RAINBOW, AEROSMITH, RUSH, QUEEN, etc) , BUT THEY HELPED DEFINE THE FEEL OF THE GENRE. Most of these early metal bands also fell into the" hard rock" category Critics generally hated it , fans positively LOVED it - either way, these bands were what people meant when they used the term "heavy metal" back in the '70s.
Enough lecture - :HOT RAILS ROCKS!!! BOC FOREVER!!!
