This is a pipe with stringers and frit. It has a bend to the neck and feet to hold it steady. Real simple pipe.

  • well kinda depends on a few things. I use K tanks. On a midrange...2-3 days of lots of work. On my redmax though I can easliy burn through a tank in a 1-1.5 days.

  • I'm a pathetic newbie. When your fully melting glass, how do you prevent it from falling down? And how do you prevent the rods from popping or flying? When I start heating rods, sometimes it pops, and breaks off. What am I doing wrong? sorry, I'm a real newbie.

  • well...its all about gravity and balance, in my opinion at least. It just takes a while to figure out when the glass is gonna move and use gravity to balance it. Practice. My rods rarely pop or break off because I dont put them in the flame right off the bat. I may get them close to the flame and it may look like its in the flame but I actually heat it up just outside the flame for a few seconds first.

  • Are you from portland maine? or is it oregon???

  • Portland oregon, the capital of Microbrews. Portland oregon as in where Northstar and Glass Alchemy and Bullseye and Uroboros is located.

  • its a midrange by nortel...its a stepdown from a redmax or major and a stepup from a minor.
