Today I wrote a computer program that basically simulates GPRMC data and modifies the data stream to reflect the instructions being given to the robot 's propulsion control module.
Whilst the movement was simulated the robot's microcontroller actually did the navigation. Data was fed to it via bluetooth and it feed the control instructions back to the simluator via the bluetooth link thus it should only require minor software changes to enable navigation on real physical hardware.
