    Hi BaileyLush,

    Yes 12/16 has twelve 16th notes in a complete measure, however since it is a compound meter it has 4 beats per measure, (12 divided by 3 sixteenths, which equals 4 beats with a length of a dotted-eighth-note value each.

  • Confusing... So 12/16ths would indicate 12 16th notes Total in a whole measure?
