african cichlids, malawi mbuna type in a planted 55 gallon tank. I recently changed my substrate from white play sand to a black activ-flora planted tank substrate. the tank includes a dozen pseudotropheus acei, a few yellow labs, and a few red zebras. I also have algae cleaners and a pictus catfish in there.

  • You should keep some Synodontis also.

  • @catfishcichlid which do you recommend, I used to have a pictus cat, he was quite an aggressive little feller

  • Very nice tank

  • @letmeshowuhow2stunt thanks, check out the latest update on my african cichlid tank.

  • What kind were the black/blue with yellow fins?

  • @JGS187 those are yellow tail acei (pseudotropheus acei), They are brilliant purple with yellow fins and tail.

  • @m1ste2tea Synodontis Nigriventris. If you want a larger species, you may want S.Petricola or S.Euptera. Euptera is kinda aggressive although.
