Girls ; I had to cut down the video because Youtube limits their time to 10 minutes.

So don't get too confused at 5:00 ; indeed, the article défini in these cases determines UNcountable nouns, which contradicts its definition (underlined at 1:22).

This is one of those complexities of the French language, laced with many exceptions... :)

You probably won't use an article défini in such a situation, in the workplace, as it's somewhat poetic, philosophical, etc...

So keep in mind that the most common role of the article défini is indeed to determine a countable noun.
