For us this is more than just another meeting, said President Nasheed. This is a matter of life and death. Eighty percent of the Maldives lies three feet or less above the above sea level. The predicted rise in sea level caused by global warming could wipe the country off the map. The islands of Tuvalu and the Solomon Islands face a similar crisis.
We need foregn currency to import goods from other countries. These are things we require for our basic needs. How many people in our country lives under poverty. More than 70 percent of our country shares there income within their family for their basic needs. 60 percent of their income is spent for rent in Male and 1/3rd of the population of entire country lives in male.

Nasheed wants to get attention and popularity of international media. He does not want to do things beneficial to the maldivian community. He should be ashamed of himself representing "Maldives" and people of the country. How much aid did he get from the international community to protect our environment. How much did he get from leasing our international airport. It must be more than 1.3 billion dollars. Where are these dollars why had the dollar rate increased to 15.42 from 12.85.
