A pixelbased Mandala is created during buddhist meditation by using an intelligent mala that counts mantras. After 108 mantras are spoken and so one mala round is full one pixel is added to the digital sandmandala. As more people meditate and as more mantras are spoken as faster the mandala fullfilles. After the digital mandala is finished it disappeares as a real sandmandala is sweapt away at the end of the tibetan ritual.
This process can be used as a visual counter for mantras for buddhist meditation. It brings the buddhist community together. The movie was made as a documentation of the digital media project "Sense of Community" at the University of Arts Berlin, 2006.
