Natasha Tigreros, a PhD biology student in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts University working in the lab of Prof. Sara Lewis, discusses an experiment examining the connection between nutrition and reproductive success. As part of the experiment, male and female cabbage white butterflies were released into a mesh tent erected on the Academic Quad, where researchers could study their mating behavior in an outdoor environment. This research was made possible by a National Science Foundation grant through the Tufts Biology Research Experience for Undergraduates.
