Charlie Babbitt (Cruise) has just discovered he has an autistic brother named Raymond (Hoffman) and is now taking him on the ride of his life. Or is it the other way around? From his refusal to drive on major highways to a "four minutes to Wapner" meltdown at an Oklahoma farmhouse, Raymond first pushes hot-headed Charlie to the limits of his patience...and the pulls him completely out of his self-centered word! But what begins as an unsentimental journey for the Babbitt brothers becomes much more than the distance between two places --It's a connection between two vastly different people...and "a poignant, profound and powerful film"

I am autistic and I APPROVE Dustin Hoffman's performance!! Not that we're all like that. Awesome movie but I admit this is the first time I ever watched it.

Coincidence that Fred Astaire, who's on the tv around 12 minutes, was in a movie called the Babbit and the Bromide

@Gilly1917 The casino people don't really care. They have seen the glitz and glamor so long it bores them. One attitude about Las Vegas that I hate the most is their expectations to tip the dealer. Every time you win, they want some of it. Does the casino pay us when they win? NO WAY! It gets worse for card counters. If you don't give tips they use it as an excuse to scrutinize you.
