I got bored so I decided to see how long it would take me to ride from one end of the game world to the other (from North Forochel to the gates of Sammath Gul).

Definitely made me appreciate the stunning visuals and the vast scale of the (almost) seamless world again.

Obivously I also missed tons of places like North Downs, Angmar, Misty Mountains, Rivendell, Ettenmoors etc. since I just took the straightest route (more or less) between, what I imagined would be, the two farthest points apart in the game.

The video has been sped up 10x for your viewing pleasure.

  • @jdweathers10 You can wander about most of Eriador, Moria, Lorien and some parts of Mirkwood. However areas like Rohan, Gondor and Moria are still missing, though the next expansion will introduce Rohan. As to buying expansions, you can access all areas in the game without paying anything, but the quests you have to buy separately, or subscribe for a monthly fee (though you still have to buy some expansions). It's a bit confusing admittedly.

  • @Biohazard16 hi sorry to bother you but im slightly confused about this game, im looking to get it so i can wander middle earth, is the whole of middle earth not included in the game? Do i have to buy expansions to get to different places or something?

  • @bidalorm Hopefully we will see Mordor way before that. Maybe in about 4 to 6 years. Turbine said they're going try to release an expansion every year from now on. I'm looking forward to seeing Rohan in the next expansion in Fall 2012!

  • @Thoregor dol guldur is the fortress its also a raid

  • @Jimiz666 how did u do to make your horse invisible?

  • mirkwood looks so spooky... if i would get ambushed there by an orc i think i would have a heart attack... oh and the 2 farthest points in the game i think are thorins hall and that dol guldur (the fortress from mirkwood-i`m not sure if that is it`s name)

  • I plan on doing frodo's exact journey there and back again the exact way he travelled when mordor comes out in about 15 years.

  • Wow that's good. If you ever get bored again, try to make the journey across from 2 different points or how long it takes to visit all regions. Or try to re-enact the journey of the ring-bearer. I know that I REALLY want to do that last one.

  • Bloody brilliant! Great choice of music too

  • Rather than doing a from one side to the other, do a complete ring of the map. A bit longer than this. XD
