That's wrong! Germany too was at an extremely low point and one man came from the fog to "bring change". When you're poor and have nothing because of a War that ravaged your country (WWI) you too will look at these extremist ideals and think, "Hey maybe this is the answer". Turkey was nothing more than a military strategy for the US. Of course the US could've taken it by force! But then who would look like the bad guys in that situation? I feel however they should have intervened because that's all Turkey really is: a militarily strategic place to keep their weapons during the Cold War to help keep Russia in check and the lives of humans are more important the the dollars they use.
