Pastel Pet Portraits/Pastel Pet Paintings

This is a collection of my commissioned as well as my private collections of pastel portraits.
Some of the image quality is not its best due to my terrible photography skills.
My website has the reference photos of some of the portraits if you are interested in seeing them.
This is my first video, so please be nice. =) Feel free to comment on my work as I take everyone's viewpoints into consideration as this can only help me improve my skills.
There are also no limits as I have commissioned a ferret and an iguana and also have done some fish.

what kind of paper do you use? pastels? love all your work

thx. I only use suede paper/suede matboard.

Pastel paper is just not as good for me.

You are a wonderful artist. I plan on looking at your website and see what you do. I had a basset that passed last year and a mini dachshaund that is featured in one of my vids...the one that says special guest so I would love to have portaits of them. I will look at your site.

Funny that you mentioned your baby just now as I am watching that same video. He's a cutie. I always like mini dachunds. A friend of mine had one many years ago. Her name was Scooter and she made a total mess with her toys. My dogs do the same thing. We call them crime scenes! lol! Stuffing, stuffing everywhere.

I always use highlights like blues, purples and greens within my blacks and pastel colors within the whites I just don't have the best photography skills and taking photos of art is a pain in the butt. They never look absolutely true to the actual colors. Maybe one day I will get better at that. That's why there are "black holes" and "pure whites" in the photos.
