BA 142 DUMPING FUEL

A British Airways flight to Delhi with 222 passengers and 16 crew members made an emergency landing at a German airport on Sunday following technical problems with its in-flight entertainment system.
The pilot of the the Boeing 777 was alerted to the problem by a cockpit alarm and the plane was diverted to the Schoenefeld airport, south-east of Berlin.
A British Airways spokesman said the flight, which left London Heathrow this morning, has since returned to London and was rescheduled to leave for Delhi Sunday evening. He said the plane landed safely and no-one was hurt. After take-off, the plane developed the fault in one of the television screens at the back of an economy class seat and was diverted as a precaution.
The place was checked by engineers before returning to London.

garlex134: Maybe it's more than that, and the landing back in Heathrow was precautionary. After all, wasn't the inflight entertainment system failure that contributed to the crash of Swissair Flight 111?

when i went on air france the enternainment system wasnt worknig on one passengeres and they didnt stop the plane

If u dont know, like BigcockvanHugenDong have said the situation is like Swissair. the plane landed by was burn before all the passenger got out so even a small problem can be serious.

you know i would want the plane to make emergency landing as well if the entertainment was not working. being on a long haul flight with no entertainment is torture.

Actually, it was because it wouldnt turn off, its a diffrent case, there was no sign of fire or overheat in this flight, so it was diffrent.
