Matthew Cameron plays his own "Nightingale" live at Carnegie Hall in NYC. The program notes read: "The Nightingale de F.L. is based on the nightingale's music heard in Liszt's Mephisto Waltz. A short tribute to that incidental figure in the story, the nightingale's song is expanded and developed as we follow its flight through the forest. Towards the very end of the piece the waltz theme is heard once more briefly, and the nightingale suddenly flies off and disappears into the night. The Nightingale de F.L. may serve as a brief epilogue to the epic tone poem by Liszt.
