Jam packed with fantastic artwork and fluent ramblings of the English language, today's show is all about tattoos and what to keep in mind while getting one.
Additional tips:
1) NEVER get your favorite band or a girlfriend's/boyfriend' name (it's just bad luck, and will look stupid in 20 years....... winger, anyone?)
2) location, location, location. have a general plan of what you wanna do.
3) make sure you want it, and it means something. just cuz you're bored & it looks cool is a pathetic excuse
4) NEVER put a tattoo where a judge can see it. it will effect your employment (NO knuckles, neck, face)
5) check around. check out different artists' portfolios. go by artist name, not the shop. if you see someone on the street with good ink, ask where they got it. most people love to talk about their work. may even get you laid.
6) pay for the quality. you don't want to be looking at a piece of crap you can't fix the rest of your life.
7) you can't get too detailed. the ink spreads, so a finely detailed job will start to smear over the years
8) NO drinking before inking. thins out the blood & you'll bleed all over the place.
9) check for hospital quality steralization. watch the artist take the needle out of the sterile package.
10) keep the plastic wrap on for at least 4 hours
11) no tight clothing, if any
12) don't pick the scab! when it itches, just tap it lightley
13) keep it moist for 2 weeks after. (there's a few certain ointments to use; can't remember the name off hand). unscented ointments only
14) be careful in the shower. NO high pressure. water is NOT the proper way to keep it moist
15) try to keep it out of the sun. forever. do NOT put tanning lotion on it.
16) cheap tattoos aren't good, and good tattoos aren't cheap
you are cool
